Two North Dakota schools are heading to the NAIA football playoffs. Both teams will play on the road Saturday.
Dickinson State (7-3) meets No. 2-ranked Carroll College (11-0) in the first round. Minot State (8-2) plays top-ranked powerhouse Sioux Falls (11-0) in the 16-team playoffs.
The Blue Hawks, ranked 17th in the nation, travel to Carroll, Mont., for a noon, MST, game.
The Beavers, ranked 14th in the nation, visit Sioux Falls at 1 p.m.
Dickinson State is in the playoffs for the second straight year and third time since 2005. Minot State is in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
The Blue Hawks had a seven-game winning streak snapped Nov. 8 by Black Hills State in the DAC Bowl in the Fargodome. Dickinson State lost its first two games of the season before its winning streak.
The Beavers also had a seven-game winning streak this season after they lost the season opener. Minot State then lost to the Blue Hawks before beating Jamestown in the DAC Bowl.
Dickinson State lost to Carroll last year in the first round of the playoffs.
