Kopitar scored at 9:14 of the second period on a wrist shot past Jean-Sebastien Giguere. He added his second at 11:26, scoring on the backhand.

10 years ago (1999): Tracy Geffre and the Mandan Chiefs went on a hitting tear in the Valley City tournament.

Geffre went 6-for-6 including a homer and three doubles and knocked in seven runs as Mandan tattooed Dickinson 27-1 behind 31 hits.

20 years ago (1989): Brian Sperle picked up the win on the mound in the first game and collected four hits in the second as Napoleon swept the Mandan A's in Class A Legion baseball. Napoleon won 13-2 and 16-11.

50 years ago (1959): Bismarck's Legion Juniors got in a ball game before the rain and stopped Jamestown's Juniors 12-3. Steve Woodcox (5-1) went all the way for the win.

Bismarck scored 10 runs in the last two times it batted. Dick Geiger and Woodcox each had two hits for the locals. Woodcox helped his own cause by driving in four runs.
