The Mandan girls basketball team is hosting a pancake breakfast today at the Mandan Eagles from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will go to girls basketball summer traveling team program.
PARKS ANDRECREATION
NATIONAL PARKSANDRECWEEK
Bismarck Parks and Recreation is planning the following activities for National Parks and Recreation Week, July 17-23.
Monday: Free use of park shelters. Call 222-6455 to reserve your free shelter.
Tuesday: Free Junior Golf at Riverwood and Pebble Creek Golf Courses from 7:30 a.m. to 11 am. Participants should call the course a day in advance to reserve their tee times.
Wednesday: Free swimming at all Bismarck pools from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5 to 8 pm.
Thursday:Free use of Capital Racquet and Fitness Center at 3200 N. 10th Street. Lift weights, walk, play racquetball or take a fitness class. Free use does not include tennis courts. Also, free use of the World War Memorial Building with free racquetball and archery range use. Also free Junior Golf at Tom O'Leary Golf Course from 7:30 a.m. to 11 am.
Friday:Free McDowell Dam rentals. Enjoy a canoe, rowboat or paddleboat.
Saturday: McDowell Dam Fun Day beginning at 1 p.m. Beach games, water contests and prizes.
July 23: Dean Foods Ice Cream Social in Sertoma Park, Shelter 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 pm. Ice cream cone for only 50 cents. Games for kids ages 2 through elementary school.
