I have some good news and some bad news.

First, the bad news.

The Tribune will no longer run the Class B Spotlight page on Thursdays. In fact, we won't be running the Class B Spotlight page at all.

Now the good news. We will continue to run the stuff that normally appears in the Class B Spotlight page - only on different days of the week.

Starting this week, you'll find a listing of "top performers" from the previous week on Tuesdays; standings and a Class B notebook on Wednesdays, and a main feature on Thursday.

We will also try to run occasional features on Mondays or Fridays.

We decided to make these changes to spread things out at different times during the week, rather than have them all stuffed into one page. That will allow us more flexibility. Many times I've had to shrink a picture, cut copy or not pursue a story idea, just to fit everything in.

Plus, it allows us to put notebooks and features on the front page of the sports section, rather than on the fourth page.

We have a wide Class B coverage area, and we strive to give those communities and schools the best coverage we possibly can. The coverage is not only important to these communities, but to the many Bismarck-Mandan residents who have Class B roots. Those roots run deep. Even though they now live in Bismarck or Mandan, they still have an interest in how their former schools are doing.

One reminder to coaches. Please call us (888-684-2293) or fax us (701-223-2063) with your game/match results.

If you're on the road, talk to the home team about sending us information.

Also, when calling in results, please give us highlights for individuals for the "top performers" list. The list will include only the information that is sent to the Tribune. It can include statistics - especially yardage totals, tackles and interceptions in football - milestones, school records, etc. Milestones and school records will be used as notebook items. Some could warrant a main feature.
