Ever since David Bosner's eye-opening performance at the NAHL Showcase, Byron Pool has been saying Bosner is a Division Igoalie.
On Tuesday, Bosner proved him right, verbally committing to play for the Air Force Academy next season.
"It's kind of hard to describe what I'm feeling right now," Bosner said in a press release. "I just know that reality has hit me and that I've finally accomplished a lifelong dream."
Bosner, a 19-year-old from Chesterfield, Mo., is among the NAHL leaders in every goaltending category. He is fourth in goals against average (1.88), second in save percentage (.931), tied for first in shutouts (two), first in minutes (892:15), and tied for third in wins (eight).
"We're extremely happy for David," Pool said. "He has worked to get this opportunity."
The Bobcats have sent several players to Air Force over the years, including current Falcon Jacques Lamoureux.
Bosner said that even though he has the next step in his career lined up, he remains focused on this season.
"Nothing has changed for me personally,"Bosner said. "I still need to prove to Air Force that they made the right decision on me. I want to be their guy as soon as possible, so I need to continue to play well.
"The team has goals this season to win the Central Division and play at nationals. To me, that is more important right now."
