INSIDE-THE-PARK HR FOR OLSON
St. Mary's High School graduate Tim Olson legged out an inside-the-park home run in Colorado Springs' 7-3 loss at Tacoma, Wash., in a Pacific Coast League game on Thursday.
Olson, leading off the fourth inning, belted a shot to center field over Tacoma's Jamal Strong. By the time Strong retrieved the ball at the 425-foot wall, Olson was well on his way to his first professional inside-the-park home run.
With Thursday's 1-for-3 outing and a walk, Olson improved his average with the Sky Sox to .302 with a dozen home runs and 44 RBIs in 245 at-bats. He's hit 20 doubles and scored 43 runs while stealing eight bases in 13 attempts.
In his 66 games with Colorado Springs, a AAA farm club of the Colorado Rockies, Olson has played every position except pitcher and catcher.
