The Demons got off to a 16-4 lead and never allowed Trinity to catch up on the way to a 53-45 WDA basketball victory.
"We didn't do anything very well in the first seven minutes," said Steve Glasser, Trinity coach.
Hans Kaldahl led Bismarck with 21 points and Tom Rohlfs added 10, while Jason Bartholomay tallied nine points and Corey Walther netted seven. Rohlfs finished off a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Walther pulled down nine.
"I though Hans made a lot of big plays," sad Demons coach Dwite Gorder.
Dean Jilik paced the Titans with 17 points, while Monte Hubas, Boll King and Scott Sickler contributed six points apiece. Jilik and Steve Schneider each collected six rebounds.
50 years ago (1958): Two cold shooting cage squads struggled through 40 minutes of ragged basketball with the Jamestown Jimmies edging the Bismarck Junior College Mystics 58-55.
Dennis Arndt led BJC with 15 points and Marv Dutt added 14, while Jim Larson and Jim Clark each added nine points.
Curt Jacobson and Jack Ford of Jamestown shared scoring honors for the game, each with 18 points.
