NSIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Pierre Atkinson and Shawn Melland of the University of Mary earned All-Conference North first-team honors on defense.

Atkinson, a senior defensive end, finished the season with 63 tackles and 6½ sacks.

Melland, a senior linebacker, collected 64 tackles and six sacks.

Junior center L.T. Brown and senior wide receiver Roman Penirian were named to the second-team offense. Senior linebacker Chris Moody was a second-team defense selection.

U-Mary got three honorable mention selections running back Jamal Lomax, linebacker Caleb Thompson and cornerback Greg Williams.

THIBODEAUX EARNS HONOR

University of Mary kicker/punter Rett Thibodeaux was named the special teams player of the week in the Northern Sun.

The junior from La Porte, Texas made a 26-yard field goal, downed two punts inside the 20-yard line and averaged 36.6 yards on six boots. He also recovered his own onside kick in the third quarter.

Offensive player of the week: Southwest Minnesota State senior running back Zach Wysong.

Defensive player of the week:Upper Iowa senior linebacker Mike Slaughter.

Dickinson State quarterback Brandon Bishop-Parise was named the player of the week in the Dakota Athletic Conference.

The senior totaled 267 yards with one passing touchdown and one rushing score in leading the Blue Hawks to a 28-21 win over Minot State and the conference title.
