10 years ago (1997):FARGO - St. Mary's graduate Ben Ahneman returned an intercepted pass 25 yards for a touchdown in the NDSU annual spring football game. Ahneman's touchdown was the only scoring for the White team, which fell 14-6 to the Green.
Bismarck's Kevin Feeney threw two touchdown passes, a 10-yarder and a 37-yarder, for the Green team. Feeney completed 10 of 17 passes for 142 yards, but he was picked off four times - twice by Ahneman. Feeney rushed for 43 yards. Ryan Dietrich, formerly of Century, rushed for a game-high 86 yards for the White team.
20 years ago (1987): DICKINSON - Dickinson State defeated Bismarck State Community College 16-6 and 21-4 in a non-conference baseball doubleheader.
Dickinson State exploded for 13 runs in the second inning of the second game as Troy Rodvold hit a grand slam and teammates Rob Gratz and John Berry each rapped three-run homers.
50 years ago (1957): MOTT - Ted Uecker, former Dickinson athletic star, has been signed to coach the American Legion baseball teams and summer program in Mott, according to Park Board chairman H. DeLapointe. Uecker also recently was named the Mott High School basketball coach.
