SENIOR BABE RUTH baseball

16-18 MIDWEST REGIONAL

BONNE TERRE, Mo. - Nate Schlosser's home run keyed a five-run eighth inning as the Bismarck Reps earned a 10-5 victory over Galena, Kan., at the 16-18-year-old Senior Babe Ruth Midwest Regional.

Schlosser, who struggled at the state tournament last weekend, was 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and 3 RBIs. Jon Hausauer was 3-for-4 in the win.

Drew Eichele also homered for Bismarck, and pitched out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam with the score tied in the bottom of the seventh.

The Reps will play Apple Valley, Minn., at 5:30 p.m. EDT today.

Williston beat the Reps to win last weekend's state tournament, but the Oilers were unable to go due to a shortage of players.

Williston has some 16-year-olds that play on the town's American Legion B team, which is playing its section tournament this weekend. That left the Oilers short-handed, allowing Bismarck to go to Missouri.
