YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A 58-year-old man was arrested Sunday after allegedly shooting and killing three people in an apartment building here.
Ernest Tupper was in his apartment when officers arrived at the building about 2:20 p.m. A dispatcher talked Tupper out of his apartment and officers took him into custody without incident, Yankton Police Chief Duane Heeney said.
No motive has been established, Heeney said.
Heeney said Tupper would face murder charges in the deaths of Robert Riibe, 21, Brian Vanwagner, 29, and Chassidy Bamsey, 21.
Tupper was being held in the Yankton County Jail.
