GRAND FORKS (AP) - Trials have been scheduled for two Grand Forks police officers accused of forcing a man to stand outside in frigid weather for 20 minutes with no coat, hat or gloves.
Officers David O'Toole and Eric Straus are charged with reckless endangerment for the Feb. 10 traffic stop involving Jason Hickman of East Grand Forks, Minn.
A prosecutor says the wind chill made it feel like 42 degrees below zero at the time and Hickman says he suffered frostbite to his ears.
O'Toole's trial in Grand Forks is scheduled to start Nov. 18 and the one for Straus is set for Dec. 16.
O'Toole has been demoted and is on unpaid suspension after the mayor decided his actions did not warrant termination. Straus resigned.
