WEST FARGO (AP) - A moose strayed into a West Fargo neighborhood and settled down in the shade for a few hours, under the watchful eye of police and game wardens, before rambling out of town along the Sheyenne River.
Police asked people to stay away from the area near West Fargo's Eagle Run Plaza, where the animal could be seen relaxing in the shade, hoping it would wander out of town on its own. Eventually, it did.
A man walking to a shed on his property reported the moose about 9:30 a.m. Friday. Game and Fish Department officials said they had a tranquilizer gun but would not use it unless the moose was endangering people.
