GRAND FORKS (AP) -Health officials have been investigating the staffing levels and quality of care at the Stadter Psychiatric Center here.
Cynthia Tredwell, the center's vice president of operations, said she was told an anonymous letter brought on the investigation, but said she had not seen the letter.
Bruce Pritschet, director of the state Division of Health Facilities, said officials had complaints about "staffing, medications and issues with the quality of care," and he said inspectors validated some of the complaints.
The state has withheld the hospital's recertification until it makes changes, he said. Tredwell said that will happen within weeks.
"We are working together with the Department of Health to timely - within three weeks - make these improvements, specifically in the quality improvement area," said Tredwell in a statement.
The Stadter Center, a private psychiatric hospital in Grand Forks, has provided 24-hour emergency services and inpatient psychiatric care in the Red River Valley since 2000. The 34-bed mental health facility was inspected last week.
