MOFFIT (AP) - A 4-year-old boy was killed after the car his grandmother was driving ran off the road and struck a tree near here, the Highway Patrol said.

Joseph Bauer, of Moffit, was pronounced dead at a Bismarck hospital on Saturday, the patrol said.

The crash happened at about 4 p.m. Saturday, on a county road about 5 miles west of Moffit.

The boy's grandmother, Vicky Lee Mills, 46, of Moffit, was injured in the crash and was taken to a hospital, troopers said. Her condition has not been released.

Troopers said weather was not a factor in the crash.
