FARGO (AP) - A wrong-way injury crash shut down a stretch of Interstate 29 north of Fargo for two hours early Thursday.

The Highway Patrol said a car driven by Jacob Davis, 27, of Belcourt, was going north in the southbound lane of the interstate when it collided with a sport utility vehicle near the Gardner exit just after 3 a.m. The patrol said the car had severe front-end damage and blocked southbound lanes of the interstate.

Davis, who had to be cut out of the wreckage, was flown to MeritCare hospital in Fargo and was charged with drunken driving, the patrol said.

The patrol said the SUV driver, Megan Howell, 20, of Grand Forks, and passenger Kevin Hinman, 20, of Boise, Idaho, were taken to Fargo by ground ambulance. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, authorities said.
