A Georgia man has been accused of causing about $15,000 damage to an airlines check-in kiosk.

Russell Wright, 40, was charged Thursday with Class B felony criminal mischief.

South Central District Judge David Reich set bond for him at $10,000 cash or surety, which has been posted.

Bismarck Police Sgt. Dwight Offerman said Wright, of Atlanta, is accused of striking and breaking a Delta Airlines ticket kiosk at 4:53 a.m. Thursday. He said Wright arrived 30 minutes prior to his flight and became frustrated when the kiosk wouldn't work.

According to an affidavit from Bismarck Police Officer Jerry Stein, the screen on the kiosk was shattered. Airport authorities believed it had been punched or forcefully struck.

The incident caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to the $30,000 kiosk, Offerman said.

While out on bond, Wright is not allowed to have contact with the airport terminal or Delta Airlines.

Offerman said a police report did not say why Wright was in Bismarck. He works for NACDA Consulting, a consulting company that focuses on college athletic departments. According to the company's Web site, Wright is the managing director of NACDA Consulting.

If convicted of the Class B felony, Wright faces up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
