Kayak found in Red River
GRAND FORKS (AP) - Grand Forks officials have solved the mystery surrounding a kayak that was spotted in the Red River, causing them to speculate if someone had drowned.
The single-person kayak was discovered Sunday near the Point Bridge. Rescue workers searched both sides of the river but no one was found in the water.
Authorities say a Grand Forks man called late Sunday night to tell them he had flipped the kayak and swam to shore. The man assumed that the kayak had been lost.
