WAHPETON (AP) - A judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for a Richland County man charged with attempted murder.

Jeffrey Kabella is accused of firing a rifle at a man who drove onto his property near Mantador in May. Authorities surrounded his home and arrested him about 20 hours later.

Kabella is to be evaluated at the State Hospital in Jamestown.

Southeast District Judge Daniel Narum denied a defense request to reduce Kabella's $100,000 bail.
