Prosecutors oppose man's release

FARGO (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a man who was convicted of telling a fellow prison inmate he wanted to kill President Bush should spend more time in a Fargo halfway house.

Daniel Cvijanovich was sentenced to 19 months in prison and one year in a halfway house after a jury found him guilty of one felony count of threats against the president. He has been at Centre Inc. for about two months.

Cvijanovich, who has maintained his innocence, filed a motion asking that he be released from the halfway house immediately so he can move in with his parents. He says he has followed all the court orders.

Prosecutors say they would agree to have Cvijanovich's stay in the halfway house cut down to six months. A judge has not yet ruled on the motion.
