Replacing lost or stolen Social Security cards can be done closer to home in some North Dakota communities, starting next month.
Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., says the program will start at the Dickinson Public Library, the Turtle Mountain Indian Health Services Hospital in Belcourt, and at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
He says it will allow people to use video technology to replace their Social Security cards, instead of traveling to a Social Security Administration field office and filling out paperwork.
Conrad says the program will be reviewed after six months, and it could become permanent.
