DICKINSON (AP) - Eleven calves were killed when a semitrailer rolled in a ditch in Dickinson.
Police say the semi drifted off the roadway Friday afternoon after leaving a local livestock auction and overturned. The driver wasn't hurt.
The semitrailer was carrying 114 calves. Several of them got loose after the accident. Workers at Stockmen's Livestock Exchange used a horse and an all-terrain vehicle to round them up.
Local firefighters had to cut open the semitrailer to free some animals trapped inside.
