GRAFTON (AP) -Walsh County officials are proposing retention dams along the south branch of the Park River to protect the city of Grafton and surrounding areas from flooding.
The proposal includes two or three dams near the city of Adams, the installation of electric generators in the dams and the release of water for electricity.
Former state Sen. Harvey Tallackson says that if the Army Corps of Engineers approves a feasibility study, it might be possible to get federal stimulus money for the project.
