TOWER CITY (AP) - A man who was sentenced to a year in prison for beating his former wife and setting fire to her home five years ago is facing new charges after removing the deck off her house with a skid-steer loader.

Douglas Boppre, 40, has been charged with felony stalking and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct for the May 5 incident.

Boppre's ex-wife told authorities the two had a disagreement about who would have custody of the couple's three children for the upcoming weekend and Boppre "threw a fit and ripped her deck off her house," court documents said.

Authorities said Boppre told a sheriff's deputy that he had removed the deck, saying it was his property.

Boppre pleaded guilty in 2003 to setting the Oct. 24, 2002 fire, after the charge was changed from arson to endangering by fire. Boppre also pleaded guilty to charges of menacing, interfering with an emergency call and domestic violence.
