FARGO (AP) - Corn and sunflower harvests in North Dakota are ahead of the average pace and nearing completion, the Agriculture Department said.
Corn for grain stood at 94 percent harvested, compared with the average of 83 percent, the agency said Monday in its weekly crop report.
Ninety-one percent of the sunflower crop was harvested, about two weeks ahead of last year and the average of 85 percent.
The report said topsoil moisture supplies statewide were rated 88 percent adequate or surplus.
Stockwater supplies were rated at 86 percent adequate or surplus, compared with 76 percent last year.
Livestock producers continued to market spring calves and move hay from the fields, the report said.
