MINOT (AP) - Minot State University's outdoor summer theater has been hit by vandals who set off fireworks over the weekend.
Authorities say the vandals smashed out a security light and a stage light and threw fireworks from high up in the stands onto the stage. Windows were smashed and scorch marks were left on a chair, floor and on the stage itself.
Associate artistic director Chad Gifford said he could not put a dollar amount on the damage. He said the vandalism is frustrating and he would ask those responsible "if they didn't have anything better to do."
Crews are working to get the theater ready for its third production of the summer, "The Odd Couple," starting Thursday night.
