WEST FARGO (AP) - A trial is set to begin in the case of an 18-year-old West Fargo man who's charged with attempted murder.

LaSamuel Richardson III does not deny stabbing Andrew Gregerson, but argues that it was self defense.

Jury selection was scheduled for Tuesday.

It's the second trial for Richardson. The first one ended in August in a mistrial after jurors discussed a newspaper article about the case.

Judges routinely admonish jurors not to pay attention to media reports or discuss cases until official deliberations begin.

Authorities say Richardson stabbed Gregerson in the chest with a kitchen knife in August 2007 during a fight involving several people.
