Federal officials say a Cannon Ball man convicted of manslaughter and assault has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Steven Brave Bull was sentenced on Monday in Bismarck.
The U.S. attorney's office says the 23-year-old Brave Bull was found guilty by a federal jury in June on charges of voluntary manslaughter, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Brave Bull was accused of kicking 55-year-old Joel Jordan of Cannon Ball in the head and striking him with a 2x4 last December, after Jordan broke a window in a home near Cannon Ball where Brave Bull and others were drinking. Authorities said Jordan died three days later in a Bismarck hospital.
