MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot police are asking residents to stay off the streets if possible as an Alberta clipper moves into north central and northeast North Dakota from Canada.
The system is bringing both freezing rain and snow to north central North Dakota, leading to dozens of vehicle accidents.
The National Weather Service says the heaviest snow is expected from Devils Lake to Grand Forks, where up to six inches might fall. Winds gusting up to 30 mph could blow the snow around and cause travel problems.
The rest of the state also has windy weather, with a chance of snow into the evening.
Cooler weather also is settling in, with highs Wednesday expected to be only in the upper teens and lower 20s.
