GRAND FORKS (AP) - The death of 2-year-old Destiny Weaver remains under investigation, nearly six weeks after her body was being taken in a plastic container to Minnesota when the man transporting it contacted authorities.

Police said they are still awaiting autopsy results. Jody Weaver, 38, has said her daughter was showing signs of the flu. No charges have been filed.

Frustration and anger have joined grief over the toddler's death, said Destiny's aunt, Wendy Grabanski. Grabanski is Jody Weaver's older sister.

"We can't even have a burial service and put her little soul to rest," Grabanski said. "We can't even finish grieving. We're stuck in limbo."

The child had been dead for at least a week when her mother and her mother's boyfriend, Clarence Smith, put the toddler's body into a plastic container on Feb. 12, loaded it into the trunk of a vehicle and took it to Pennington County, Minn.

Authorities said Smith called them during the trip and reported the body.

Police said the investigation into the toddler's death is ongoing and that an autopsy had not been completed as of Friday.

"They are not giving us any information," Grabanski said. "It's unfair to the whole family, not to know what happened."

Grabanski said she hasn't spoken to her sister since December.

"She started pulling away, isolating herself, around this time last year," Grabanski said
