NORTHWOOD (AP) - Groundbreaking is set Thursday for a new school in this tornado-ravaged community.
The Northwood school was destroyed in the tornado that hit Aug. 26, 2007.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is providing nearly $5 million for the new school, which will cost more than $14 million. The State Fire and Tornado Fund, which provides property insurance for buildings owned by state political subdivisions, has reimbursed $7.6 million for the destroyed building.
and more than $370,000 for its contents.
