WEST FARGO (AP) - West Fargo city commissioners are expected to give their blessing to a smoking ban on Monday night, but that may not be the end of the debate.

Mayor Rich Mattern says he's heard that there might be a push by residents to put the question on the November ballot.

West Fargo voters on Tuesday approved a smoking ban to take effect only if Fargo did the same. Fargo residents approved a ban that includes bars and truck stops.

But Mattern says that since the West Fargo vote was advisory only, the issue could be brought up again.

Cass County officials say about 1,500 petition signatures would be required to force another vote.
