FARGO (AP) - The April 19 Bon Jovi concert should be among the Fargodome's biggest shows ever, officials say.

Ticket sales surpassed 21,000 the first day, said Rob Sobolik, the dome's general manager. The concert likely will have seating for up to 24,000, depending on how the stage is set up, he said.

Based on the number of seats available, the show could climb to sixth or seventh biggest in dome history, Sobolik said.

Country singer George Strait drew 27,000 people in March 1997.

Some hotels near the Fargodome were booked solid before Bon Jovi tickets even went on sale.

"It will be a good weekend for us, a good weekend for the market," said Holiday Inn general manager Doug Anselmin.

The concert could have a direct economic impact of $500,000, said Cole Carley, president and CEO of the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau.
