FARGO (AP) - A judge has denied a move to suppress statements made to police by a teenager accused of killing his sister.
Sergei Carlson is charged with murder and a deviate sexual act in the July 13 killing of his 16-year-old sister, Whitney, in Fargo. Authorities said he told police he strangled her with his hands, put pillows over her head and then had sexual contact with her.
Sergei Carlson's attorney sought to suppress evidence from the July 16 police interview. Judge John Irby denied the request.
Prosecutors argued the boy's rights were not violated.
