Schafer suggests oil trust fund

Former Gov. Ed Schafer says North Dakota should create a permanent oil tax trust fund.

Voters last week turned down a proposed constitutional amendment to create such a fund, but its supporters say they will try again, starting with the 2009 Legislature.

Schafer says saving oil money for the future makes sense.
