MINOT (AP) - An airman from the Minot Air Force Base who disappeared while swimming off a beach in Guam has been declared dead, base officials announced Tuesday.
Airman 1st Class Michael McDonald, 21, disappeared Friday while swimming with four others off Tarague Beach in Guam. A search for him was called off Sunday, Coast Guard officials said.
McDonald enlisted in the Air Force in April 2004 and went through basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, officials said in a statement. He worked as a maintenance technician, base officials said. His home address was not released.
