Bridger Anderson would rather hunt than play video games, and the 10-year-old wants the Legislature to lower the minimum age to hunt deer with a gun.
Fourteen- and 15-year-olds now may hunt deer during a special youth season.
Anderson is supporting a bill to allow 12- and 13-year-olds to take part in the season. The youngsters would be required to have adult supervision while hunting.
Anderson spoke during a House Natural Resources Committee hearing on the bill Monday. The committee didn't take immediate action on the proposal, and the House will vote on it later.
Anderson lives on a ranch seven miles west of Carrington in central North Dakota.
He says he plays football, wrestles and ropes calves - and he loves to hunt.
