GRAND FORKS (AP) - The fourth of five planned centers designed to boost northern border security has opened in Grand Forks.
The center will have more than 40 people and will monitor 861 miles along the U.S.-Canadian border.
North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad says the air wing will use state-of-the art surveillance aircraft to protect the border against terrorists, illegal immigrants and drug traffickers.
The Grand Forks center is part of a network of security posts across the northern border. Other branches are in Michigan, Montana, Washington, and New York.
