FARGO (AP) - A middle school student here was taken to juvenile detention after punching a teacher twice, police said.
The boy was being placed in a time-out room when he allegedly assaulted the Agassiz Middle School teacher Thursday morning, said Sgt. Shannon Ruziska.
The female teacher suffered a bloody nose and a bump on her head, he said.
Fargo Public Schools spokesman Lowell Wolff was unaware of the incident early Thursday night.
However, he said the kinds of behaviors once associated with high school students seem to be working their way down into the younger grades.
"It is more violent. The willingness to carry out aggressive acts seems to be a bit more pronounced," Wolff said.
Since Wolff didn't know of the incident, he couldn't say what kind of school disciplinary action would be involved.
