DICKINSON (AP) - Dickinson voters have approved a measure that allocates $6 million in sales tax money to help build a new stadium and convention center.
The Badlands Activities Center will replace Whitney Stadium on the campus of Dickinson State University.
The measure passed on Tuesday with nearly 59 percent.
DSU has raised about $10 million for the $16 million project. Construction is slated to begin in either December or January, with the goal of playing football in the new facility next September.
