The University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University are in line for almost $14 million in business development grants.
North Dakota's Board of Higher Education has endorsed the projects. They are part of a state "centers of excellence" program that's meant to create new jobs.
UND has four grant applications that request $9.6 million in aid. North Dakota State University has two projects waiting for about $4 million in grants.
Minot State University's Bottineau campus has been recommended for a $400,000 grant.
One UND project involves making vaccines from goose eggs. State Commerce Department director Shane Goettle says it's more common to use chicken eggs, but he says goose eggs have stronger embryos.
