FARGO (AP) - City officials are considering the use of vehicle immobilizers known as Denver boots as an alternative to towing vehicles with unpaid parking fines.
A Denver boot is a metal clamp that locks to the wheel of a motor vehicle, immobilizing it. Fargo city commissioners on Monday are scheduled to discuss a proposed ordinance that authorizes the use of the devices.
"We've talked about it, and it's pretty much the opinion of the Parking Commission that it would be the better way to handle it," said Bob Stein, Fargo's senior planner.
