Fargo attorney Cheryl Bergian says she'll be running again for the North Dakota Public Service Commission.
Bergian is holding news conferences in Bismarck and Minot on Wednesday to make her announcement. She's the first Democrat to say she will be seeking the endorsement to run for a seat on the regulatory agency.
Bergian ran for the PSC in 2006. She lost to incumbent Republican Tony Clark in a close race. Bergian got 48 percent of the vote.
Bergian is a lawyer. She works as director of the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition.
Incumbent Public Service Commissioner Susan Wefald is stepping down. Republicans have one announced candidate to succeed her. North Dakota State University professor Brian Kalk announced his campaign last week.
