DEVILS LAKE (AP) - The Devils Lake project manager for the Army Corps of Engineers says it likely will be mid to late February before the agency is ready to release revised maps of proposed levee alignments closer to the shoreline of Devils Lake.

The changes would affect the Lakewood and Camp Grafton areas.

Project manager Bonnie Greenleaf says the corps decided to reconsider the alignment after hearing residents' views on the original maps it released in November.

Greenleaf says the corps also continues to look at what lake elevation will trigger construction of the next levee raise or expansion.

The levee now tops out at 1,460 feet. The next raise would raise it in two 5-foot increments.
