Crop sprayer makes emergency landing in field
ROLLA (AP) - A crop sprayer was forced to make an emergency landing in a grain field southeast of here after it developed mechanical problems.
The pilot - Allan Krech, 31, of Rolla - was not injured in the incident at about 4:45 p.m. Saturday, the Highway Patrol said.
The plane skidded in the field a short distance, made a 180-degree turn and then came to a stop, the patrol said. The plane did not collide with anything.
Some at NDSU assigned to hotel
FARGO (AP) - About 70 North Dakota State University students will have to live in a hotel until housing opens up on campus.
Rian Nostrum, associate director for operations for NDSU's residence life department, said having some students in overflow housing is typical. Two years ago, the university had 330 in overflow, with 200 in hotels, he said.
A resident assistant will live with students at the hotel. NDSU contracted with a bus service to provide transportation to and from campus.
Nostrum said students typically enjoy the hotel because they get perks such as weekly laundry and maid service, a swimming pool and continental breakfast.
Students began moving into NDSU housing on Sunday.
DSU and Tribes form partnership
DICKINSON (AP) - Dickinson State University and the Three Affiliated Tribes have formed a partnership to educate future entrepreneurs.
Dickinson State will offer its Certification in Entrepreneurship program in New Town, and will involve American Indians in "think tank" activities at the university's Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Revitalization.
The university and the tribe hope to eventually create a Native American Business Enterprise Center at Fort Berthold Community College in New Town that would be closely affiliated with Dickinson State's Small Business Development Center.
