The North Dakota Highway Patrol this Labor Day holiday weekend is taking part in a nationwide crackdown on impaired driving.
The stepped-up enforcement will continue through Monday.
Troopers also will be focusing on traffic violations that contribute to crashes, and on safety restraint violations.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department also is stepping up patrolling efforts this weekend, on the Missouri River in the Bismarck-Mandan area.
Enforcement Chief Bob Timian says officers on the river will be keeping an eye out for boaters who are under the influence.
