FARGO (AP) - Fargo's Dakota Clinic is merging with a Minnesota health care company.
The clinic shareholders have voted unanimously to merge next year with Essentia Health, of Duluth, Minn.
Dakota Clinic had been part of Innovis Health. Both will be known as Innovis Health under the change, and Innovis will be a tax exempt, not-for-profit operation.
Essentia Health is in at least eight states. It reports $1 billion in net operating revenue per year.
Not-for-profit status would take Innovis off Fargo's tax roll. The city assessor's office says Innovis contributed about $1.4 million in taxes this year.
