GRAND FORKS (AP) - Visits from Democratic presidential contenders Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to the North Dakota Democratic convention will cost the city of Grand Forks about $32,500.

City Auditor John Schmisek says Grand Forks will pick up the tab for overtime pay for police and firefighters and the cost of running shuttle buses to the Alerus Center on April 4.

The $32,500 figure does not include costs incurred by the county or other agencies.

Schmisek says the costs will be paid for out of the city's economic development and tourism funds, which come from city sales tax collections.
