Government agencies and advocacy groups in North Dakota are getting nearly $3.4 million in federal grants to combat violence against women.

The state's congressional delegation says the money from the Justice Department also is aimed at helping victims with recovery.

Groups getting money range from the state Health Department to the Trenton Indian Service Area and the North Dakota Council on Abused Women's Services.
