GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The city-owned Alerus Center has a new executive director.
Management company VenuWorks has hired Steve Hyman for the job, from a group of 30 candidates. He managed buildings in Illinois earlier.
Hyman will replace Charlie Jeske, who resigned last year and recently became manager of the Bismarck Civic Center. Hyman, who also was a finalist for the Bismarck job, will start work at the Alerus on Feb. 18.
He most recently worked for CCO Arenas of Streamwood, Ill., a Chicago suburb.
Earlier, he was the economic development coordinator for the city of Moline, Ill., for six years. He has an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
